Building of the press, as well as the porch-carterie adjacent to it (Case C 334): inscription by order of 1 July 1992
Origin and history
The Pressoir de Saint-Thibault, located in the Oise department in the Hauts-de-France region, is a monument dating from the first quarter of the 19th century, more precisely between 1800 and 1820. This building was originally designed to house a press and a ride, essential tools for the production of fruit juices, probably grapes or apples, in an area where agricultural and wine-growing activities played a major economic role.
Filed as a Historical Monument by order of 1 July 1992, the press also includes an adjacent porch-carter, identified as Cadastral C334. This type of structure reflects the rural organization of the time, where agricultural buildings were often grouped together to optimize production processes. The official address, 51 rue Anicet-Corniquet, confirms its anchoring in the local fabric of Saint-Thibault, a commune attached to the Township of Beauvais.
The location of the monument, although documented, is considered to be of poor accuracy (level 5 in 10), which may indicate minor uncertainties about its exact location. Despite this, the press remains an architectural testimony of the agricultural and artisanal practices of the early 19th century in Picardie, now integrated into the Hauts-de-France. No information is available on its current accessibility (visits, rentals, accommodation).
