Origin and history

The house in Kappelkinger, in the department of Moselle (Great East Region), is an 18th-century historical monument. It consists of a farm and a house, initially separated, with a farm now destroyed. The dropural walls were partially re-discovered in the 19th century, reflecting later architectural evolutions.

The construction of this farm dates back to the first half of the 18th century, a period marked by still largely traditional farming in Lorraine. The buildings of this type served both as a dwelling and a place of work for peasant families, reflecting a rural social organization focused on self-sufficiency. Registration as a Historic Monument in 1992 underlines its heritage importance.

The precise address, 3 rue Saint-Jacques, and its cadastral classification (15 52, 53) allow to locate this monument, although geographical accuracy is considered mediocre (level 5/10). No information is available on its access to the public or on possible contemporary reuse (guest rooms, visits).
