Origin and history

La Maison Pointue, located at 30 Place du Marché in La Châtre, is a historical monument dating from the 15th century. It is distinguished by a facade adorned with a simple door, typical of late medieval architecture. The windows were broken over time, and the frames were drunk, partially altering its original appearance. Inside, chimneys, of various styles, bear witness to successive changes over the centuries.

Classified as a Historical Monument by order of 28 September 1926, the Maison Pointue today belongs to the commune of La Châtre. Its official address, according to the Merimée base, is 2 rue des Trois-Marchands, although GPS coordinates are located approximately 1 rue de l'Enfer. The accuracy of its location is considered "a priori satisfactory", with a score of 6 out of 10.

The building, whose structure has traversed the centuries, reflects the architectural and urban transformations of La Châtre, a town in the department of Indre in the Centre-Val de Loire region.
