Origin and history
The Saint-Martin church of Cressonsacq, located in the village of the same name in the Hauts-de-France region (formerly Picardie), is a monument dating back to the 15th century. The choir, the oldest part of the building, dates from the 1450s, reflecting the late Gothic style characteristic of this period. This first architectural element marks the beginning of a religious and community history rooted in the local landscape.
At the beginning of the seventeenth century, around 1600, the nave of the church was added, thus completing the initial structure. This extension illustrates a period of renewal or expansion of places of worship, often linked to population growth or evolving liturgical needs. The ensemble, combining medieval and classical elements, offers an example of hybrid religious architecture, typical of buildings redesigned over the centuries.
Classified as a Historic Monument by decree of 19 September 1949, the Saint Martin Church is now protected for its heritage value. The property of the municipality emphasizes its central role in local life, both spiritually and culturally. Its inscription reflects the importance attached to the preservation of rural religious buildings, often in the heart of the history of French villages.
Available sources, including the Monumentum database and the Mérimée data, specify that the church is located at 9 Rue de la Ville in Cressonsacq, in the Oise department (60). Although GPS location is considered "passable" (note of 5/10), this information makes it possible to clearly identify the monument in its geographical and administrative context, attached to the arrondissement of Beauvais.
