Origin and history
The farm in Contrisson, in the department of Meuse (Great East region), dates from the first half of the 19th century. This building, typical of the rural architecture of the period, reflects the agricultural practices and social organization of Lorraine at the beginning of the industrial era. Its facades and roofs, inscribed in the Historical Monuments by decree of 14 December 1992, testify to a vernacular heritage preserved despite the economic transformations of the region.
At that time, the Meuse was marked by a predominantly agricultural economy, where farms played a central role in community life. These farms, often family farms, combined crops, livestock and sometimes craft activities. The partial protection of this farm (cadastre AD 185, 186) underlines its heritage importance, although its exact location, reported as "passable" (note 5/10), remains to be refined according to available sources.
The address recorded in the Mérimée base (98-106 Petite Rue) and the Insee de Contrisson code (55125) confirm its anchoring in the territory of the former Lorraine, now integrated in the Great East. No information is provided on its access to the public, its current vocation (visit, accommodation) or possible historical owners, limiting the knowledge of its contemporary use.
