Chapel of the Recollets: inscription by order of 24 January 1930

Origin and history

The chapel of the Recollets de Bollène was a religious building located in the municipality of Bollène, in the department of Vaucluse, in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region. This monument, whose exact origin and period of construction are not specified in the available sources, was characteristic of the urban religious settlements in the region. Its architecture and its role in local life probably reflected the spiritual and community practices of the inhabitants before its disappearance.

Demolished in the late 1960s, the chapel almost completely disappeared, with the exception of its main gate, still visible today. Classified as historical monuments by decree of 24 January 1930, it illustrates Bollène's architectural and religious heritage. Its current location corresponds to that of the Récollets parking lot, marking the urban transformation of the site.

No additional information is available on its history, founders or specific uses prior to its destruction.
