Origin and history
The Dolmen des Agars is a megalithic monument located in the commune of Saint-Chels, in the Lot department (Occitanie). Daed of Neolithic, it illustrates the collective funeral structures typical of this period, intended to house the deceased of a community. Its architecture, composed of large stone slabs, reflects the construction techniques and spiritual beliefs of local prehistoric societies.
Ranked Historic Monument by order of 12 July 1989, the Dolmen des Agars is protected for its archaeological and heritage value.
