Origin and history
The Blanques Chapel, also known as the Bellengues Chapel, is a Catholic building located in Alvimare, in the Seine-Maritime department of Normandy. Built in the 1st quarter of the 16th century, it is distinguished by its wood-paned structure and its connection to the nearby Blanques mansion. Originally dedicated to Saint Barbe, she was then placed under the name of Saint Anne. Its architecture and its genealogical epitaph of the lords of the Blanques make it a rare testimony of local history.
Ranked a historic monument on December 27, 1974, the chapel is now decommissioned. Its classification specifically concerns the old chapel (cadastre A 192), highlighting its heritage importance. Sources, such as Le Patrimoine des Communes de Seine-Maritime (1997), confirm its role in the religious and seigneurial history of the region, although its current access and use remain poorly documented.
The available references, including Wikipedia, Monumentum, and the Merimée base, specify its exact location: 85 Route de la Chapelle, 76640 Alvimare. Its state of conservation and its modalities of visit (opening, renting) are not detailed in the sources consulted, but its inclusion among the protected monuments guarantees its preservation for future generations.
