Origin and history

The Notre-Dame-de-Bon-Secours Chapel is a religious building located in Ramousies, northern department, Hauts-de-France. This monument, inscribed in the inventory of Historical Monuments by decree of 11 January 1951, bears witness to architecture and local devotion. Its exact location, 8 Bis Rue de la Fontaine, is documented in the Mérimée base, although the accuracy of its location is considered satisfactory a priori (note 6/10).

The chapels dedicated to Notre-Dame-de-Bon-Secours were often places of pilgrimage and gathering for the rural communities of Hauts-de-France. In this region marked by an agricultural and artisanal tradition, these buildings played a central role in spiritual and social life. They served as identity landmarks, welcoming prayers, employer holidays and community gatherings. Their preservation, like that of Ramousies, reflects people's attachment to their religious and cultural heritage.
