Origin and history
The Saint-Martin church of Lamothe-Landerron is a Catholic building located in the Gironde department of New Aquitaine. Originally built in the 12th century, it was enriched in the 16th century by the addition of a gothic bell tower. The church is about a kilometre north of the village, along the D129 departmental road, in a place called Saint-Martin. Its architecture thus reflects two distinct epochs, mixing Romanesque elements with late Gothic additions.
Ranked among historical monuments since December 24, 1925, the church is subject to full protection by ministerial decree. It now belongs to the municipality of Lamothe-Landerron, as the data from the Merimée database show. Its inscription in the title of historical monuments underlines its heritage importance, both for its architecture and for its role in local history.
The available sources, including Wikipedia and Monumentum, confirm its status as a religious building still visible, although information on its current accessibility (visits, rental, etc.) is not specified. The GPS location, estimated as satisfactory a priori (level 6/10), places the church at the approximate address 10 Saint-Martin, confirming its anchoring in the Landerron landscape. No mention is made of historical characters related to its construction or evolution.
