Church: Order of 7 February 1922

Origin and history

The church Saint-Jean-Baptiste de Chacrise is a religious building built in the 12th century, in the commune of Chacrise, in the department of Aisne (Hauts-de-France). It is distinguished by its pure architecture, typical of this period, and its slate arrow bell tower, a rare feature in the region of Soissonais.

Classified as historical monuments in 1922, this church illustrates the medieval architectural heritage of Picardia. Its location in a valley of the plateau du Soissonais adds to its picturesque character. The bell tower, placed at the crossroads of the transept, dominates the local landscape and bears witness to the construction techniques of the time.

The building belongs to the municipality of Chacrise and remains an emblematic place of the religious and historical heritage of Aisne. Its ranking in 1922 underlines its cultural and architectural importance, while ensuring its preservation for future generations.
