Origin and history
The Beauregard mansion, located in Fréteval (Loir-et-Cher), is a building whose precise origins remain unknown. Built in the 16th and 17th centuries, it has defensive features, such as water-fired ditches, suggesting an initial protective function. Its architecture is distinguished by an entrance door in basket handle, flanked by carved pilasters with capitals, surmounted by a moulure cornice and a triangular pediment decorated with a central shield. An appentis, integrated in the middle of the building, completes this structure.
The door of the manor house was classified as Historic Monument by order of 25 February 1948, highlighting its heritage value. Although its detailed history and former owners are not documented in the available sources, its present state and architectural elements reflect a Renaissance influence mixed with subsequent adaptations. The gaps, still visible, recall its past potentially linked to the local nobility or to a seigneurial function.
No information is available on the contemporary uses of the mansion (visits, accommodation, etc.), or on any owners or significant events associated with its history. The location, noted as "a priori satisfactory" (level 6/10), places the monument at the approximate address 5001 Rue du Plessis, 41160 Fréteval, in a rural setting characteristic of the Loire Valley.
