Origin and history

The Bear and Doll Museum was located in Lens-Lestang, in the Drôme department, in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. This unusual place housed a varied collection of iconic toys, ranging from 19th-century porcelain dolls to modern icons such as Barbie or Bisounours. Visitors could discover the evolution of plush toys and dolls since 1850, reflecting cultural and industrial changes related to childhood.

The museum was distinguished by its interactive approach, offering visitors the opportunity to make their own teddy bear. Demonstrations and creative kits were made available, allowing an immersion in the artisanal universe of these toys. This educational component strengthened its family and educational appeal, while celebrating the fun heritage.

Unfortunately, the museum closed its doors in 2021. Its disappearance marks the end of a unique space dedicated to the preservation and transmission of the history of toys, objects often loaded with nostalgia and memories for several generations. No information is available on the reasons for this closure or the future of the collections.
