Origin and history

Hotel de Talmay is a private hotel located at 3 rue Vauban, in the preserved area of the city of Dijon. Built during the 2nd quarter of the 16th century, it represents an example of Renaissance civil architecture in Burgundy. Its location in the historic centre of Dijon, a city marked by its medieval and reborn heritage, bears witness to the urban and architectural transformations of this period.

The Hotel de Talmay has been listed as historical monuments since September 10, 1937, a recognition that covers the entire building with the exception of classified parts. The latter, including facades and roofs, were classified by decree of 21 July 1947. This dual protection status illustrates the heritage importance of the building, both for its architecture and for its integration into the Dijon urban fabric.

Available sources, including Wikipedia and Monumentum, confirm its precise address and its Insee code (21231), attached to the Côte-d'Or department. Although the practical information on current visits or uses is not detailed, its location in a protected area and its legal protection make it a key element of the Dijon heritage. The accuracy of its geographic location is assessed as "a priori satisfactory", allowing it to be located with relative accuracy in the city.
