Origin and history
The Musée de la marine de Seine de Caudebec-en-Caux, also known as MuséoSeine, is a cultural space inscribed in the contract of Pays de Caux Seine agglo. Opened in 2016, it receives financial support from the Normandy Region, the Seine-Maritime Department, the Caux Seine agglomeration community and the city of Caudebec-en-Caux. The Parc Naturel Régional des Boucles de la Seine Normande, owner of part of the collections, is also a key partner. The museum is labeled Musée de France and is dedicated to ethnology, local history and techniques of navigation and fishing.
MuseoSeine tells the evolution of the river, the landscapes and the ways of life of men on its shores. Among his assets, he exhibited several iconic boats, including the last gribane of Seine, a century-old boat. The museum is based on a variety of themes, ranging from regional history to science and technology related to navigation, while providing a satisfactory location according to geographical precision criteria.
Located at 1bis Avenue Winston Churchill in Caudebec-en-Caux (Seine-Maritime), the museum is managed through institutional and territorial collaboration. Its website, www.museum.fr, allows to deepen its presentation and collections. Available data include Monumentum and internal archives, confirming its anchoring in the Norman river heritage.
