Origin and history

The Villa Les Mauriciens, located in Wimereux, Hauts-de-France, was built in 1897, during the 4th quarter of the 19th century. It is distinguished by its roof terrace, its winter garden and a garden decorated with an imposing colonnade. This monument illustrates the seaside architecture of the period, combining English influences, Louis XV and Louis XVI styles, as well as Art Nouveau details.

After the 1920s, the villa underwent major changes, acquiring its present appearance in 1930. Its originality lies in the exceptional conservation of its original interior decor, notably in five rooms on the ground floor and the billiard room upstairs. These spaces reflect a rare stylistic eclecticism, reflecting the refined taste of its owners.

Classified as a Historic Monument, the villa has been fully protected since 2016, including its garden, wall, gates and grounds. This protection underscores its heritage importance, both for its architecture and for its landscaping, characteristic of the secondary residences of the Opal Coast at this time.
