Origin and history
The Écomusée de la Combe de Savoie is a monument located in Grésy-sur-Isère, in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. The general purpose of this type of establishment is to preserve and enhance the tangible and intangible heritage of a territory, linked to the traditions, know-how and history of the local populations. In regions such as Savoy, ecomuseums often play a key role in the transmission of collective memory.
They allow us to understand past lifestyles, traditional economic activities (agriculture, crafts, exploitation of natural resources) and the evolution of landscapes.
