Origin and history
The Notre-Dame des Monts chapel, located in Verberie (Oise, Hauts-de-France region), is a religious building built between 1339 and 1342, during the 2nd quarter of the 14th century. This monument illustrates the late Gothic architecture of Picardia, with particular attention to its structure, described as "remarkable" in historical sources. Its registration as a Historic Monument in 2008 attests to its heritage value, although its post-construction history remains partially documented.
During the French Revolution, the chapel was sold as a national good, a fate common to many religious buildings under the revolutionary regime. This change in status reflects the political and religious upheavals of the time, marked by the secularization of the Church's property. After this period, its use and maintenance appear to have varied, but the available sources do not specify the details of its preservation before its modern ranking.
Today, the chapel is fully protected by a decree of 2 April 2008, covering both its structure and its immediate environment (cadastal park AD 22). Its exact address, 62 Rue de Paris à Verberie, allows to locate it with a precision deemed "satisfactory" (note 7/10). Although practical information about his visit or current use is lacking, his status as a Historic Monument makes him a place of interest in the study of the medieval picardic heritage.
