Origin and history

Chalet Blanc is an Art Nouveau style villa built in 1908 in Sceaux, Hauts-de-Seine. His architect, Hector Guimard, also designed the fence and garden, although it was later modified. The house is distinguished by its facades and roofs protected since 1975, as well as by decorative cast iron elements from the foundries of Saint-Dizier.

The enamelled lava entrance plate, typical of Art Nouveau, was made by the Gillet house in Paris. Located on the edge of the street, the villa has a face overlooking Lakanal Street. Its architecture and ornamental details reflect the innovative aesthetic of Guimard, emblematic of this period.

Enlisted for historical monuments in 1975, the house illustrates the architectural heritage of Art Nouveau in Île-de-France. Protected elements include facades, roofs, and cast iron structures, designed by Guimard himself. Today, it remains a rare testimony of this artistic movement in the region.
