Fronts and roofs of the farm; location of the former castle, including moat and stone bridge (Box AZ 1): inscription by order of 26 February 1987
Origin and history
The Bedouâtre farm, located in Saint-Martin-Boulogne in the Hauts-de-France, is a monument dating back to the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries. This site combines a farm with the remains of an old castle, whose moat and stone bridge still remain today. The facades and roofs of the farm, as well as the location of the castle, have been protected since 1987 by an inscription under the title of Historic Monuments.
The official address of the farm, according to the Merimée base, is indicated as being on N.N. 42, although GPS coordinates suggest a more accurate location at 300 Rue Caucherie. This monument illustrates the architectural and agricultural evolution of the region, with elements dating from three distinct centuries. The accuracy of its location is estimated as "a priori satisfactory", reflecting partial but usable documentation.
The protections applied to the Bedouâtre farm specifically concern facades, roofs, as well as the location of the old castle, including its moat and stone bridge. These elements, recorded by order of 26 February 1987, testify to the heritage importance of the site. No information is available on its current accessibility, whether visitation, room rental or accommodation.
