Origin and history

The 3 buildings of Rochefort-en-Terre constitute an architectural complex located in the municipality of the same name, in Brittany. These buildings, although mentioned as a monument, do not have accurate information about their construction period or detailed history in available sources. Their presence nevertheless reflects the urban and architectural evolution of this medieval village, ranked among the most beautiful villages in France.

Rochefort-en-Terre, like many Breton localities, has had a history marked by artisanal, agricultural and commercial activities. Buildings of this type, often constructed of local stone, were used both as dwellings, as places of commerce or as workshops. Their preservation today contributes to the development of the built heritage and the tourist attraction of the region, reflecting a functional and aesthetic heritage.
