Origin and history
The former medical center Rhône-Azur, located in Briançon (Hautes-Alpes), is a historical monument inscribed by ministerial decree on 5 December 2022. This site includes several protected elements: the old hospital buildings, the Greystone villa, and a high relief carved by Louis Arnaud at the entrance. The facades and roofs of staff housing (buildings A, B, C, M and V) are also part of this heritage protection.
The medical center is part of the health and architectural history of the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region. His inscription in the Historical Monuments underscores his cultural and historical importance, notably through artistic elements such as Louis Arnaud's high relief. The Greystone villa, probably linked to the history of the site, adds a significant heritage dimension.
Located on the 70th road of Grenoble, the site is identified in the Mérimée base under the code Insee 05023, attached to the commune of Briançon. Although information on its current use (visit, rental) is missing, its status as a protected monument guarantees its preservation for future generations.
