Former gate of the farm or Porte de la Cour Richardière : inscription by order of 2 November 1926

Origin and history

The old gate of the farm of Montmaur, also known as Porte de la Cour Richardière, is a monument located in Auvers-sur-Oise, in the Val-d的Oise. This architectural vestige, inscribed in the inventory of Historical Monuments by decree of 2 November 1926, represents a characteristic element of the rural heritage of the region. Its exact location at 8 Rue de la Sansonne has been documented in the Merimée base, although the accuracy of its location is considered to be satisfactory a priori (note 6/10).

Auvers-sur-Oise, a commune of Val-d-Oise in Île-de-France, is known for its rich agricultural and artistic past, especially linked to the presence of impressionist painters in the 19th century. Local farms, such as Montmaur, played a central role in the economy and social life of the village. The monumental doors, often made of stone, marked the entrance of the domains and symbolized their importance.

Although little precise information is available on the specific history of this gate, its classification in 1926 underscores its heritage value and its interest in preserving French rural history.
