Origin and history
The town hall of Pfaffenhoffen is an emblematic building located in the Alsatian municipality of the same name, in the department of Bas-Rhin. This building, which has been listed as historic monuments since 1935, bears witness to the local architecture and administrative history of the region. Its current status is that of a delegated town hall, integrated since 2016 in the new municipality of Val de Moder.
The location of Pfaffenhoffen in the Greater East region reflects a historical heritage marked by Alsatian influences. Town halls of that time often played a central role in community life, serving as a place of political decision and assembly for the inhabitants. Although architectural details are not specified in the sources, its inscription as a historic monument underscores its cultural and heritage importance.
Since 1 January 2016, the town hall of Pfaffenhoffen has lost its status as an independent town hall to become a delegated town hall in the enlarged town of Val de Moder. This territorial reorganization, frequent in France, aims to optimize administrative management while preserving the local identity of the old villages. The 1935 inscription remains a marker of its historical value, thus protecting its heritage for future generations.
