Origin and history

The bakery located at 83 rue de Crimea, in the 19th arrondissement of Paris, is an architectural and artistic testimony of the early twentieth century. This place, classified as Historic Monument, is distinguished by its preserved front and interior decoration, reflecting craftsmanship and decorative techniques of the time. The walls, covered with tiles of white earthenware, are decorated with a purple floral frieze, while the ceiling, decorated with fixed under glass, represents rural scenes such as mills, mowers and sowers.

Renato Panzani, master of this decor, marked this place with its unique style, combining functionality and aesthetics. The protection of the front and interior decoration by a decree of 23 May 1984 underlines the heritage importance of this bakery, which illustrates the artisanal know-how and artistic taste of the Belle Époque Paris.

This monument offers an overview of the mouth shops of the early twentieth century, where architecture and decor played a central role in the identity of the establishments. Localization in Paris, a city undergoing urban and social transformation at this time, reinforces its historical interest. The protected elements, such as earthenware and stained glass windows, bear witness to the materials and decorative themes of the time, linked to rural life and traditional craftsmanship.
