Origin and history

Pastry In Trianon is an iconic boutique located on Rue du 11-Novembre, in the city centre of Clermont-Ferrand, in the department of Puy-de-Dôme. Created in 1900, it is one of the few fronts of this period to have retained its original appearance, both for its facade and for its interior decor. Its architecture reflects the commercial style of the early 20th century, with a central door framed with windows and a basement decorated with glass panels.

The front of the pastry is particularly remarkable, with a frame decorated with side panels, a curved cornice, and a fixed store in "Milan" lace above the sign. These elements, as well as the interior decoration, were protected by an inscription as historical monuments on 1 July 1986. The boutique is located in a street between the 18th and 19th centuries, adding to its historical character.

Today, the pastry in Trianon remains an architectural and cultural testimony of the craftsmanship and trade of the Belle Époque in Clermont-Ferrand. Its exceptional state of conservation makes it a place of interest both for heritage lovers and for passersby curious to discover a fragment of local history.

The shop is mentioned in works such as Clermont-Ferrand, Montferrand, at the time (2001), which emphasize its importance in the urban landscape of the time. Although private property, its front and interior remain visually accessible from the street, offering an overview of the commercial aesthetics of the early twentieth century.
