The facades and roofs on the street and on the main courtyard, as well as the stairwell with its ramp (Box 02-01 AD 105): inscription by order of 2 October 2001
Origin and history
The building located at 67 rue Sainte-Anne, in the 2nd arrondissement of Paris, is an emblematic 17th century building. Ranked a Historical Monument, it illustrates the civil architecture of this period, marked by a search for balance and sober ornamentation. Its facades and roofs, as well as its stairwell with ramp, were protected by ministerial decree in 2001, highlighting their heritage value.
The location of this building, in a central district of Paris, reflects the increasing urbanization of the capital under the Ancien Régime. At that time, private hotels and related buildings were growing to house a rising bourgeoisie and a nobility close to the royal power. These buildings played a key role in the social and economic structure of the city, hosting both residences and commercial activities.
The partial inclusion of the building in the inventory of Historic Monuments in 2001 has preserved significant architectural elements, such as the stair ramp. This type of protection aims to maintain the authenticity of the places while allowing them to adapt to contemporary uses, although information on its current access (visit, rental) is not specified in the available sources.
