Origin and history

Les Calanques de Piana is a natural monument located in the municipality of Piana, Corsica. This site is known for its brightly coloured rock formations, shaped by erosion over the millennia. The red, orange and pink granite cliffs dominate the Mediterranean Sea, creating a striking contrast with the turquoise blue waters.

In Corsica, natural landscapes such as the Calanques de Piana have always played a central role in the lives of the inhabitants. These geological formations, often difficult to access, have served as refuges or landmarks for local populations. Their exceptional beauty makes it today a major tourist destination, attracting visitors from around the world to admire this preserved natural heritage.
