Origin and history
La Maison de Langesse is a historic monument located in the commune of Saint-Martin-de-la-Brasque, in the department of Vaucluse, in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region. This site has been included in the inventory of Historical Monuments since 1992, covering not only the main building but also related elements such as a courtyard, a hangar, as well as hydraulic installations (fontaine, waterworks, basin). These characteristics suggest a typical rural architecture, linked to water management and local agricultural activities.
The location of the Maison de Langesse, although documented, remains approximate according to available sources, with a precision considered "passable" (note of 5/10). This type of house, often in the heart of Provencal villages, played a central role in community life, serving both as a dwelling, a place of work and a gathering point for farming and livestock activities. The hydraulic elements, frequent in this region with Mediterranean climate, testify to the historical importance of water control for local populations.
