Origin and history
The 13th century house of Laperrière, located in the commune of Poiseul-la-Ville-et-Laperrière in Côte-d'Or, is one of the oldest testimonies of private rural housing in northern Burgundy. The building, partially rebuilt in the 17th century, preserves medieval elements visible from the public road, notably on its facade and chimney stump, inscribed with historical monuments in 1928.
The monument is located at the exit of the hamlet of Laperrière, on the old national road 71 (now D 901), close to a chapel and a cross also classified. Although transformed into a private home, this house once served as a town hall until 1789, illustrating its importance in local life.
The inscription in the historical monuments, which took place by decree of 25 September 1928, concerns only parts dating from the thirteenth century. The rest of the building, rebuilt in the 17th century, has been listed in the General Inventory of Cultural Heritage (IGPC) since 1990. Its architecture thus combines two distinct periods, offering an overview of the evolution of construction techniques in rural Burgundy.
The precise location of the house is indicated as being on the Grande Rue of the hamlet of Laperrière, with an approximate address from GPS coordinates: 9001 Grande Rue. The Insee code of the commune, 21490, confirms its membership in the Côte-d'Or department, in the region Bourgogne-Franche-Comté.
