Origin and history

The House Lourdel, located in Delle, is a building whose origins date back to the 4th quarter of the 16th century. It was deeply transformed after 1723, with notable architectural modifications such as bays in spans and the addition of an outside wooden gallery oriented towards the castle's terre. This square-plan building, with a circular screw staircase tower, consists of a ground floor, two floors and an attic.

Interior preserves remarkable decorative elements, such as panelling, carpentry and three chimneys dating from the first half of the 18th century. These accommodations reflect the architectural and artisanal style of the period. The building, purchased by the city in 1993, was reconverted to accommodate the Town Hall, marking its anchor in contemporary municipal life.

The facades, roofs, the wooden gallery, as well as the hall of the walled council and the fireplaces of the eighteenth century have been protected since 2011 by an inscription to the Historical Monuments. The accuracy of its location is estimated as fair (note 5/10), and the monument is now owned by the municipality of Delle, in the Territory of Belfort.
