Chapel (Box ZI 207): inscription by order of 28 June 1994
Origin and history
The Chapel Saint-Nicolas de Removille is a religious building built in the 4th quarter of the 16th century, located in the commune of Removille, in the department of Vosges (88). This monument, inscribed in the inventory of Historical Monuments by order of 28 June 1994, belongs today to the commune. Its exact location, 15 Rue du Val, is documented in the Merimée base, although the accuracy of its location is considered mediocre (note 5/10).
The chapel, identified under Cadastre ZI 207, illustrates the religious architecture of the late Renaissance in Lorraine. At that time, local chapels often played a central role in community life, serving as places of worship, gathering and sometimes refuge. Their construction generally reflected the influence of local lords or village communities, although available sources did not specify the sponsors of this monument.
Current data comes mainly from the Monumentum platform and internal archives, including a photo license under Creative Commons. No information is available on its accessibility to the public, possible rental or services such as guest rooms. The chapel remains a testament to the heritage of Lorraine, marked by its recent inscription (1994) as the Historical Monuments.
