Origin and history
The chapel Sainte-Anne de Saint-Nolff, located in Place du Calvaire in Morbihan, was built in 1493 by Olivier de Gourvinec. Its windows and stained glass windows are decorated with lily flowers, a distinctive symbol of this time. The chapel has been listed as a historical monument since 1968, although some parts, such as the frame and sandstones, have disappeared over time.
The western door retains its original 15th century style, while the south side has a brace resting on two carved angels. A heraldic shield, surmounted by a hammock and an incomplete figure, adorns the flower. This monument, owned by the commune, bears witness to the religious architecture of Brittany at the end of the Middle Ages.
The chapel is mentioned in the bases Mérimée and Monumentum, with a precise location at 13 Place du Calvaire, 56250 Saint-Nolff. Its initial registration dates from 1929, before being confirmed in 1968. Architectural details, such as make-up angels and flower motifs, make this a typical example of the Breton chapels of this period.
