Origin and history

The Sainte-Catherine chapel in Apt is a religious building built in the second half of the seventeenth century. Located in the city of Apt, in the department of Vaucluse, it is representative of the religious architecture of this period in Provence. Its exact location is Rue Scudery, in the heart of the commune.

Classified as historical monuments by decree of 31 December 1984, the chapel has had several uses over the decades. In the 1990s, it served as a temple for the local Protestant community after sheltering the city's archaeological museum. Today, due to its condition requiring repair work, it is no longer used.

The chapel is currently owned by an association. Its classification as a historic monument reflects its heritage significance, although its access to the public or visit is not specified in the available sources. The data indicate an approximate location, with an accuracy considered poor (level 5/10).
