Origin and history
The Château de Flamboin is located in the commune of Gouaix in the Seine-et-Marne department of Île-de-France. Today it belongs to the family The Groumellec. Its entrance pavilion, the only protected element, was listed as historic monuments on October 4, 1932. This site is also known for a legend combining Henri IV and Gabrielle d'Estrées, who would have spent one night there.
During the third quarter of the 16th century, the castle park would have been built for Hélie du Tillet, then lord of Gouaix and owner of the site. The stone statues that adorn the park date back to the 19th century. This domain thus illustrates several epochs, combining Renaissance architecture and subsequent additions.
Available sources, including Wikipedia and Monumentum, confirm the partial listing of the castle and its precise address in Gouaix (65 Rue du Château). The site retains a location deemed "a priori satisfactory", with an Insee code linking the commune to the district of Melun. No information is provided on its current accessibility or uses (visits, events).
