Origin and history

The church of Saint-Martin de Nouan-le-Fuzelier is a religious building located in the commune of Nouan-le-Fuzelier, Loir-et-Cher, in the Centre-Val de Loire region. Its origins date back to the 12th century, with significant modifications and additions in the 17th and 19th centuries. It is representative of local religious architecture, mixing medieval elements and more recent reconstructions.

The church was listed in the Historic Monuments by order of November 7, 1929, recognizing its heritage value. Its architectural features include a 13th-century modillon cornice, a bell tower in the first quarter of the 16th century, and a chorus rebuilt in 1661. Lateral chapels were added between 1884 and 1887, and restorations were carried out by Pierre Chauvallon between 1930 and 1933.

The building is owned by the commune of Nouan-le-Fuzelier and is located at 11 Rue Jeanne d'Arc. Its state of conservation and its openness to the public are not specified in available sources. The church is a typical example of parish churches that have evolved over the centuries to meet the spiritual and community needs of the local population.
