Origin and history

The Musée-Aquarium de Creysse is an original creation in France, entirely dedicated to water, fishing and fish. It is distinguished by a first section dedicated to migratory fish, while a second one highlights freshwater species in the Dordogne basin. This educational and scientific project allows you to discover emblematic species such as Atlantic salmon, lamprey or sturgeon, while highlighting their role in the river ecosystem.

Between 1991 and 1994, the breeding ponds initially present on the site were transferred to Bergerac, marking an important step in the evolution of the museum. The establishment also offers entertainment, such as salmon jousts, to raise public awareness of the preservation of aquatic environments. Its official address, 28 Bella Riva website in Creysse, and its label "Museum of France" confirm its territorial anchoring and cultural vocation.

The museum is part of a cross-cutting field of ethnology and nature sciences, providing a multidisciplinary approach to local aquatic fauna. The contact information available, such as its telephone number (05 53 23 34 97) and its Insee code (24037), is administratively attached to the Dordogne in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region. The accuracy of its location, assessed as fair, reflects its accessibility in a rural setting close to Bergerac.
