Origin and history
Guidfosse's dolmen, also known as In Endiass Huennou is a megalithic building located in Plouray, Morbihan. It is about 420 metres north of the hamlet of Guidfosse and 500 metres south of Tourlaouën. This simple dolmen, typical of Neolithic, is characterized by a chamber delimited by six parallel orthostats, with the smallest slabs to the east marking the entrance. The interior measures 2.5 × 1.8 metres, and the whole is covered with a single granite covering slab.
Ranked as historical monuments by decree of 21 September 1978, this site bears witness to the funerary architecture of the period. The property belongs to the commune of Plouray, and its precise location is referenced in the Merimée database under the code Insee 56170. Available sources, such as Monumentum and Wikipedia, confirm its importance in Breton's megalithic heritage.
The description of the dolmen, including its dimensions and structure, comes from the work of Philippe Gouézin, published in 1994 in Les megalithes du Morbihan interior. This monument illustrates neolithic funeral practices, where dolmens served as collective burials. Its conservation status and ranking make it a representative example of megalithic sites in the region.
