Origin and history

Kermorvant Dolmen is a megalithic building located in Moustoir-Ac, Morbihan, Brittany. It dates from the Neolithic and is located southwest of the village, about 200 meters from the hamlet of Kermorvant. This dolmen is oriented north-north-west/south-south-east and consists of a chamber bounded by four orthostats supporting a 3-metre-long cover table.

The monument suffered damage in 1963 when a nearby road was built. Despite this, it was classified as historical monuments by order of 4 October 1965. Its structure suggests that it could be a simple dolmen, although its exact architecture remains unclear.

The dolmen is now owned by the municipality of Moustoir-Ac. It shows the importance of megalithic constructions in the Breton region during the Neolithic period, marked by the emergence of agriculture and sedentary societies. These monuments often served as collective burials or places of worship for local communities.
