Origin and history

The dolmen dit de la Mouïse is a megalithic monument located in the commune of Baccon, in the Loiret department (Centre-Val de Loire region). A Neolithic, it is a collective burial typical of this period, marked by the emergence of agriculture and sedentarization. This type of structure, made up of large stones (orthostats) covered with a table, was used to shelter the deceased and reflected the beliefs and social organization of the communities of the time.
