Origin and history
The Dolmen de la Ville-Tanguy is a megalithic monument located in the commune of Trégon in the Côtes-d'Armor department of Brittany. It is distinguished by its simple structure: a single quartzite cover table, measuring 3.10 meters long by 2.10 meters wide, inclined and supported by two vertical slabs (orthostats) on the west side. This type of construction is characteristic of the collective burials of the Neolithic, although the exact period of its erection is not specified in the available sources.
The dolmen was recognized for its heritage importance and classified as historical monuments by order of 11 December 1963. This official protection underscores its archaeological and cultural value in the Breton megalithic landscape. Available data also indicate an approximate location at 5085 La Ville Tinguy, on the territory of the merged municipality of Beausais-sur-Mer, although the official administrative address remains Trégon (code Insee 22209).
Bibliographic sources, such as the work of Loïc Langouët The megaliths of Dinan District (2004) confirm its integration into the inventory of megalithic sites in the Côtes-d'Armor. The dolmen thus illustrates the prehistoric heritage of the region, marked by a dense concentration of stone monuments. No information is available on any excavations, discovered artifacts, or specific ritual uses related to this site.
