Origin and history

The Domaine des Milelli, located in Ajaccio, Corsica, is a 17th century residence belonging to the Bonaparte family. This country house was also dedicated to vegetable crops intended to feed the family. His story is linked to a legacy of Paul Emile Odone, brother of Virginia Odone, who had married Carlo Maria Bonaparte, a bisaiul of Napoleon I.

In 1657, the marriage between Virginia Odone and Carlo Maria Bonaparte sealed a link between the Odone and Bonaparte families. At the death of Paul Emile Odone, the property was left to the Jesuits. However, in 1773 the expulsion of the Jesuits by Louis XV led to a claim of property by the Bonaparte. The property was finally returned to them in 1785.

Architecturally, the estate presents a square plan with a floor of vaulted cellars, an elevated ground floor and two floors divided into several rooms. The facades and roofs were classified as Historic Monument in 1958, while the entire estate was registered in 2017. Today it belongs to the municipality of Ajaccio.
