Origin and history

The Château du Saillant Vieux is a historical monument located in the communes of Voutezac and Allassac, in Corrèze (Nouvelle-Aquitaine). This estate covers two municipalities and includes a house, outbuildings, a park and islands on the Vézère. Its facades, roofs, interior parts and landscape elements have been protected since 2020, reflecting its architectural and historical importance throughout the centuries (XV, XVII and XIX).

The registration order of 30 July 2020 specifies that the protected elements include the ground floor rooms, the stairwell, as well as all outbuildings and the park's right of way. The estate is located at an approximate address (3333 Rue de la Vézère, Voutezac), although the sources also indicate a reference to Allassac. The accuracy of its location is considered satisfactory a priori (note 6/10), and plans annexed to the decree clearly define its perimeter.
