Façades et Roofs sur rue (cad. AB 147): inscription by decree of 25 June 1970
Origin and history
The French potter shop in Châteauneuf-en-Auxois is a historical monument located in the commune of Châteauneuf, Burgundy-Franche-Comté. Dated from the 17th century, this shop illustrates the artisanal activity associated with the production of tin objects, a material widely used at that time for the manufacture of domestic utensils and decorative objects. Its architecture and location on the Grande-Rue testify to its integration into the city's urban and economic fabric.
The protection of this monument was formalized by an order of 25 June 1970, which listed its facades and roofs on the street as Historic Monuments. This recognition highlights the heritage importance of the building, both for its role in local artisanal history and for its architectural value. The data available, notably from the Merimée database, specify its exact address and its Insee code, confirming its anchoring in the Côte d'Or department (21).
