Origin and history

The building originally located at 8 rue Saint-Georges in the 9th arrondissement of Paris disappeared from the urban landscape. According to the archives, its door had already been removed in 1951, marking the beginning of its demolition. A new building has since been erected at its location, permanently erasing the traces of the old house.

The location of this historic monument is documented with an accuracy considered mediocre (note of 5/10), according to data from the Merimée database. The official address indicated is 8 rue Saint-Georges, although GPS coordinates suggest a proximity to number 10 of the same street. This gap illustrates the challenges of historical mapping in a constantly changing neighbourhood.

Private property, this former building does not seem accessible to the public for visits, space rentals or tourist accommodation. His history remains largely unknown, apart from archival records. The disappearance of his door in 1951 was the only precise time frame available, pointing to the lack of details about his architecture or past occupants.
