Origin and history
The Church of the Nativity-de-Notre-Dame, located in Vezet in the Haute-Saône department, is a Catholic religious building built between 1785 and 1790. It was designed by the architect Claude-Antoine Colombot, according to a church plan hall with an integrated bell tower. Its architecture combines a central vaulted nave in a glass crib, flanked by bottoms covered with arches, and a choir framed by a sacristy and a vaulted chapel in a dome.
The building was listed as historic monuments by order of April 16, 2009, recognizing its heritage value. The structure is distinguished by its apse, rounded inside but polygonal outside, and its doric columns. Property of the municipality of Vezet (now attached to La Romaine), the church illustrates the rural religious architecture of the late eighteenth century in Franche-Comté.
Available sources, including Monumentum and the Merimée base, specify that the church is located at 4 Rue de l'Eglise in Vezet (70130), in the present municipality of La Romaine. Its conservation status and location are considered satisfactory (note 7/10 for geographical accuracy). The building remains a testament to the architectural and religious heritage of the Haute-Saône, marked by late classical influences.
