Origin and history

The church of Saint-Gengoul, located in Rouilly-Sacey in the Aube department (Great East region), is a religious building dating back to the 12th century, with major developments in the 16th century. It contains notable heritage elements, such as a 16th century tile and a 13th century statue of Mary with the Child, reflecting its architectural and artistic evolution throughout the centuries.

The building was officially listed as historic monuments by order of 12 May 1976, thereby recognizing its heritage value. The town of Rouilly-Sacey is now the owner. The church, dedicated to St.Gengoul, is part of the local religious landscape, as evidenced by references to the Clochers de France and the Observatoire du Patrimoine Religious.

Available sources, including Monumentum and Wikipedia, specify that the church (cadastre ZH 93) is located at 32 Rue du Balcon du Parc. Its conservation status and location are documented, with geographical accuracy assessed as "passible" (note 5/10).
