Origin and history

Notre-Dame-du-Sacré-Coeur Church is a parish church located in the Charentonneau district of Maisons-Alfort, Île-de-France. It was built between May 1908 and July 1909, using modern materials such as concrete and brick. This monument belongs to the parish of Notre-Dame-du-Sacré-Coeur and remains an active place of worship and community gathering.

The church choir was renovated in the 1970s, marking the first major transformation of the building. In 2016, a complete restoration was carried out by the Cardinal's Work of Buildings. This intervention included the creation of a new liturgical space, designed by Anne Bernot, as well as the signing of a new altar by Bishop Michel Santier. This work has enabled the interior to be modernized while preserving its religious character.

The church is distinguished by its stained glass windows illustrating scenes from the New Testament, adding an artistic and spiritual dimension to the building. Pastoral service is provided by the Community of Beatitudes, a Catholic congregation recognized for its commitment to parish life. These elements make Notre-Dame-du-Sacré-Cœur a historic and living place rooted in Christian tradition.
