Origin and history
The church Saint-Blaise de Valletot is a 12th century religious building located in the eponymous village of Normandy. This monument, whose location is estimated as "a priori satisfactory", is listed in the Merimée base under the code Insee 27669, corresponding to the department of Eure. Although little documented in available sources, its existence is attested by an inscription under the title of Historical Monuments for its Western portal, protected by decree of 10 March 1934.
The property today belongs to the municipality of Valletot. The western gate, a remarkable architectural element of the church, is the only component explicitly protected by heritage services. The available data do not specify other detailed stylistic or historical features, such as restoration campaigns or landmark events related to the building.
The approximate address, 12 Rue de l'Eglise, allows to situate the monument in the present urban fabric, although its history remains partially unknown apart from this specific protection. Sources also mention a Creative Commons license for an associated photograph, signed Gérard Janot, but no other iconographic or documentary detail is provided.
