Church: by decree of 19 November 1910
Origin and history
The church Saint-Bonnet de Néronde-sur-Dore, located in the Puy-de-Dôme department in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, is a Roman Catholic religious building. Built in the 12th century, it has typical features of the Auvergnat style, especially in its apsidial part and its northern side. The cul-de-four of the apse rests on five arches, two blind ones, a local architectural peculiarity.
In the 14th century, the church underwent significant changes: the south side was changed, the nave was enlarged by the addition of a lower side, and a staircase of access to the bell tower was arranged. The cross between the transept and the nave is surmounted by a dome on pendants, topped by a modern bell tower. These transformations reflect the evolution of the liturgical and aesthetic needs of the time.
Classified as historical monuments by order of 19 November 1910, Saint-Bonnet Church is now owned by the municipality. Its architecture blending auvergnat novel and Gothic additions makes it a remarkable testimony to the medieval religious heritage of the region. The accuracy of its location is estimated as fair, with an approximate address at 3 Rue de l'Ancienne Gare.
